My name is Grace Teague and this website showcases my progression within the fashion industry.
The journey started with acceptance onto the Extended Diploma in Art and Design course at Leeds Arts University specialising in textiles design.
Through this course I learned various skills such as screen printing, 3D workshops, plastic manipulation and creating fashion conceptually. Acquiring these allowed me to express myself creatively.
I created a conceptual garment for my final major project, which featured on the cover page of the final year exhibition, and was rewarded with a Distinction.
From gaining this, I was accepted onto the BA(Hons) Fashion Design course at Leeds Arts University where I continued developing my skills such as how to pattern cut, sew, technology, create a personal design process and collaborate with other industries such as fashion photography and styling.
Through this course my passion has grown deeply for the fashion industry.
My final project is themed around Burlesque thus fuelling my interest in costume design.
Alongside completing my studies, I executed two self-directed projects. The first independent project involved designing a wedding dress and working alongside a professional wedding dress creator to complete the final result.
Following on from this, I conducted a second self-lead project where I designed pattern cut, fitted and sewed a prom dress for a client.
